Christmas at Selfridges

While having a little browse round London at the weekend (big sis was in town :D), had to have a little stop at Selfridges and peruse the shop window for Xmas. Have to say though, however much I did like it, I much prefer Christmas window displays to be about Christmas and not just about pointing the customer to the right floor the toys and gifts are on, and then throwing over a load of shiny baubles to give it a 'Christmas' theme. Obviously this is how shops make their biggest sales at this time of year, but give me Fenwick Newcastle's Christmas window any day! Ahhh I miss Newcastle :(




I'm not quite sure why they decided to put a circus theme in one of the windows, pretty sure I've never been to circus for Christmas!

I may not have my Autumn/Winter wardrobe yet, but it's good to see that biker jackets over dresses is still cute for Spring/Summer next season. Thank you Burberry!

Must haves!

Have got to say I haven't really been a fan of River Island for quite some time, but decided to have a little mooch around today and have actually fallen in love with quite a few things in there. Quite possibly my new favourite place to shop. Here are a few must haves on my list;








I remember having a hat just like this when I was a kid, a pink fluffy hat with cat ears, I loved it! This is too cute :)

BIG MOVE!!!

Haven't updated in a while. Been a little busy! Boyfriend got offered a job in London, which was amazing news. So we have had to pack up our life and move down South! A lot of mixed emotions, sad we have to leave Newcastle, I really do love this place and our home, excited for new prospects and a chance of me actually getting a job, nervous at living in such a big city and really happy for my boyfriend, best thing that has happened to him in a long time. Packed up most of our life into the back of my little Punto, and traveled 6 hours with our little rabbit and cat to start our new big adventure :)

Inspiration of the Week - Eskimoie Illustrations

Feeling totally inspired by Eskimoie Illustrations by the extremely talented Moie Preisenberger. I have always had a passion for illustration, but never been too great at it, but seeing her amazing work has totally inspired me to want to try some illustrations of my own in my spare time (not that I could achieve anything as brilliant as Eskimoie Illustrations). Elie Saab

Elie Saab has always been a favourite designer of mine. His designs are so elegant and sophisticated, he really knows how to work with fabrics. I have always been impressed with his couture collection, but I am absolutely in love with his Ready to Wear collection for the upcoming Autumn/Winter 2010/11. Very chic! However, not impressed with the grotesque, ill looking choice of models he has used! Put some weight on!

Result!!!

I am officially the proud owner of BA (Hons) 1st class degree in Fashion Communication! Unbelievably over the moon. All that hard work and tears definitely paid off. It really has given me the motivation now to go out and work really hard to get that dream job. Soooooo happy :)

Orange People!

I'm really struggling to get this whole fake tan obsession everyone seems to have. I honestly have not seen one person with a fake tan that actually looks good, it just looks FAKE!! It's highly annoying, why can't people just embrace their natural skin colour, instead of walking around like a load of oompa loompas! I can't remember what people used to look like before fake tan was invented!

Black and Brown Fashion?

I'm really struggling to decide whether it's right to put black and brown together with clothes. I've never really thought about it before, but I'm having a bit of a dilemma, as I have a lot of black dresses but want to be able to wear my brown gladiator sandals with them, but do they look right together?? I'm sure I've done it before, but for some reason I find myself worrying about a fashion faux pas.

I have a major obsession with ASOS.com. It has actually become a bit unhealthy how often I am on just to browse when I'm a little bored. I love how much ASOS have grown over the years and think they are probably one of few companies that can handle the huge amount of customers they have. They have not let me down yet :)

Just been having a little read through 'Stella' The Sunday Telegraph supplement and came across this advert for primelocation.com and noticed it had quite a big resemblance to Tim Walker's famous shoot with Lily Cole. Hmmmm....

Karen Millen!!!!

Ok, so I had an interview at Karen Millen to work as a Style Advisor on Friday. Just found out I got the job. Really excited about this, I've always loved Karen Millen. The whole brand and experience is so chic and the clothes are beautiful. I've never been able to afford anything from Karen Millen, but me and my sis always used to have a browse so that when we could afford that special dress, we would know where to go!!

What's Next?

So you're at that point in your life where you've just finished your degree and you've got to go onto bigger, better things! Surely this is meant to be one of the most exciting times of life when you're free to explore the world and all that jazz! Err not quite! Right now all I'm thinking is WTF???!!

Guess we'll have to just wait and see what happens...

So while I figure out what I'm doing with my life, thought I would create a little blog so I can share some opinions and vent my feelings from time to time. I've never really been a fan of any blogs, but I always manage to stumble upon some pretty interesting stuff, and thought it would be a nice idea to start one.
